Mott has been writing songs since early childhood. Singing along to his favorite artist, The Monkeys, America, and Sinatra, Mott would make up his own lyrics to many of the hits by those artists. But Mott had a family and needed a steady paycheck. He became a successful advertising executive specializing in the fields of music and automotive. Until one day in 2014, a musician client reached out to see if Mott had any lyrical ideas for a Christmas song. He did!
